In its first year of operation, patient demand far exceeded projections, with more than 138,500 patient encounters and visits from patients across all 99 Iowa counties and 26 states. UI Health Care has already approved a $24 million expansion to add four operating rooms and 12 additional exam rooms, with construction expected to begin in late 2026.
North Liberty is also home to the headquarters of GreenState Credit Union, Iowa's largest credit union with over $10 billion in assets and more than 1,000 employees. The city's position between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City means residents can reach employers in both metros, from Collins Aerospace and the Cedar Rapids manufacturing base to the University of Iowa and University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City. The community consistently ranks among the best suburbs in the state.
